Yeokum Middle School announces NSDAR recipients – The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), founded in 1890, is a nonprofit organization that promotes leadership, citizenship and patriotism in our youth. Each year, the NSDAR recognizes students from area school districts who exemplify the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism. The 2013-14 Yeokum Middle School recipients are: Andrew Clark, seventh grade; and Madison Daniels, eighth grade. These two students were recognized along with the recipients from neighboring schools at a special ceremony by the DAR society. Each was given a certificate, a pin and attended a reception. Once the students have been chosen as the DAR Good Citizen they are invited to participate in the optional scholarship portion of the program. For more information, call YMS at 348-1042.
