Roderick (Ian) joined Rod in 2012 as a pitcher only. Ian had worked with him on a personal basis while Rod was at Swing Builders. It has been an enjoyable 2 years. Rod strives to bring out the best in all of his players, both on and off the field. This is evident by Ian receiving an academic and sports scholarship to Friends University in Wichita, KS. The last 2 years went by fast. Yes, we traveled all over the mid-west. Was it worth it? You bet!! Rod, through his teams, maximizes the visibility of his players and does all the behind the scenes work necessary to get his players to the next level. He has assembled a great staff that really brings out the best in all of his players. We will continue to keep tabs on Rod and his teams as Ian’s career progresses. In the beginning, the relationship was instructor/coach, but ended up as a close knit family that will stay in contact for a long time to come. Bear & Georgann Connors
Our son Austin was on KC Elite for two years and he really enjoyed being part of this team. He learned a lot about his position and was given the opportunity to showcase his skills in front of all levels of college’s in the mid-west, eventually making it to the next level. If your son has the talent, work ethic and desire to play college baseball, I would highly recommend this organization. Top notch! Thanks Taylor Family
Our family became a part of the KC Sluggers(now KC Elite) when Christian was a junior in high school. Christian played for this organization until the end of the summer, 2012. Coach Myer’s style is very forthright and straightforward. Christian was coached/mentored by both Coach Rod and Coach Steve Willis. These two coaches, and their assistants, knew Christian was capable of being better than what he demonstrated on the ball field, and they continue to press him toward higher goals. The organization gave Christian objectives to attain, and made him accountable to achieve those ambitions. Coach is strict, and demands excellence on and off the ball field. He would constantly emphasize unity and encouragement to be shown amongst the team, in practice, in the dugout and on the field. He expected all the players to play with honor and pride. Coach Myers made himself available and assisted Christian to achieve one of Christian’s main goals, which was to play college baseball. He was awarded a baseball scholarship to a Division II school in Missouri. Coach Myers would take the time to train him, personally speaking to Christian, mentoring, imparting wisdom, life skills and baseball knowledge. Our family had an amazing experience with this competitive baseball organization. We give high recommendations to anyone considering these teams for their son. George, Sandra & Christian Binger
I think your program was great.
Testimonial for Rod Myers and KC Elite Baseball May 28, 2012 Based on a recommendation from a trusted friend, we chose Rod Myers and KC Elite Baseball to help our son use the sport he loves to assist in his college education. Our son has played baseball with Rod Myers for back-to-back fall and summer showcase seasons, and he has enjoyed every inning of it. Rod gave our family the opportunity and the confidence to pursue our son’s dream of playing college baseball. Now that our son has earned a college baseball scholarship, we are very excited and self-assured to see what his future holds. Rod Myers is not only our son’s baseball coach, but Rod also became a good friend to our family. Stacy and Nika Peacock
September 23, 2015 Dear potential KC Elite family, I’ve known Rod Myers since 2008, even before he began coaching our son fall of his high school freshman year. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of getting to know him and his family quite well. I can truthfully say that I have the utmost respect for Rod, not only as a baseball coach, but as an attentive father, humble person, and one of the most genuine men you’ll ever meet. There has never been any doubt that Rod had nothing but my son’s best interest at heart. His connections within the baseball community are next to none; I’ve always trusted that he would put Ryan in front of the “right people” to aid him in achieving his dream of playing baseball at the collegiate level. Rod has always strived to showcase our (his) boys where most appropriate for THEM, assessing their potential and helping place them accordingly. I believe that getting our son to the next level – college baseball – would not have been possible without KC Elite. I’ve been involved in sports my entire life, from little league to college and helped coach for nine years. Knowing how time consuming and sometimes “thankless” it can be, I found it refreshing that Rod always seemed to connect with his team and always encouraged them to “play AND enjoy the game.” Every single summer 2015 player that wanted to, 12 out of 14 young men, went on to play in college. If you want your child to be in an exceptional position to continue learning baseball at the next level, or if you just want your child to simply enjoy the game at a competitive level, there’s no question you can count on Rod Myers and KC Elite to make that happen. Most Sincerely, Ronnell Kayhill
Coach Rod & Patricia Rod Corpus-Myers, I want to thank you both from the bottom of my heart, for all that you did to give my son Thomas Solorio the opportunities that he has. Rod when you first asked me to let him play I was like yeah ok, as time got closer for him to leave I was like uh maybe it’s not ok! Rod you seen talent in him and pushed him to keep working hard! Again with your help he is going to be playing baseball at the next level! We love you and appreciate all that you have done for us, we will be forever indebted to you! Love & God bless you guys Solorio/Rosas Family — at KC Elite Athletics.
Our son played for KC Elite for 5 seasons. Hunter’s life is baseball. He’s played since he was just 4 years old and has always loved the game. However, I have never seen a child’s love grow as much as it did when he started to play at KC Elite. He showed a desire to develop into a catcher, a position he had very little experience playing. Rod helped him and coached him to be a pretty great one! I have seen a lot of kids in older age groups miss the coaching aspect as some organizations figure that once the boys reach a certain age, they no longer need instruction. All of the KC Elite staff coach right up to their last game before they leave for school. During the college visits and camps, the KC Elite players stood out. Not only was their skills very impressive compared to other players there; but their demeanor, professionalism and maturity was head and shoulders above the others. They hustled, stood at the front of each line, supported each other and were first to volunteer to assist coaches and other players. We are proud to say that Hunter signed to play with Coffeyville Jr College on a full tuition scholarship for the catching position. Thank you, Rod for all you have taught them. The Kellgren’s are so proud to be a part of this organization
Chase began playing for Rod in 2010 and we have spent three years in his system. We came to Rod because we were told that he could prepare Chase for the next level. We have been pleased with the results. Rod truly cares about each of his players and devotes his energies toward maximizing the potential for each athlete. Showcase baseball requires tremendous committment and dedication and Rod was able to keep my son excited to learn and driven to excel. Rod has been a strong presence in the recruiting process for us and I have seen firsthand that he is respected by both college coaches and professional scouts. We know that we made the right choice three years ago. Chase has committed to Rockhurst University and will continue his baseball career. Rod and Patricia are truly good people and I consider them excellent role models for our youth. The KC Elite team has been very successful and is considered to be a high caliber team everywhere in the country we have traveled. Chase will always consider himself a KC Elite Athletic and we will always consider Rod and Patricia Myers to be our friends. Jim Leavy
